Review: Absolution by L.P. Lovell & Stevie J. Cole

Publication Date: 1/11/2016
Rating: 5 Stars

Official Blurb:

Ezra James is no different. I was going to kill him, but then I found myself obsessed and possessed in the most reverent of ways. I became his sinner, and he became my sin, but the wages of sin is death, so I must kill him.

Ezra

The son of a whore, raised by criminals, molded to fit into a world without morals. I've never given a shit about anything until the night I watched a man drop dead at the feet of my little killer. She called to my depravity, and everything in me demanded that I take her, possess her, own her. Some monsters hide behind the faces of angels.

Damned. Broken. Irredeemable.

Through blood, absolution shall be found.

Oh, be still my dark heart. Stevie J. Cole and LP Lovell have done it again with their latest dark romance novel. Absolution is absolute perfection.  It has everything that a reader who loves books that are on the sick and twisted side.   A Cole & Lovell novel isn’t completely without a few well-placed WTF moments and stomach churning scenes and this book is full of them!

Evie faced so many horrors as a child and young woman that there was no way that she would come out unscathed.  Yet, I didn’t expect her to be as sick as she ended up.  Killing in the name of the God has long been a tradition of many religions, but Evie’s brand of salvation is far different than I could have ever expected.  She needs her sins absolved and the only way to do that that is kill the sinners of the world.  After another tragic turn in her life, she faces the ultimate sacrifice, to avenge her sister or fall to her knees in front of the devil himself.

That devil being Ezra. He’s not a normal man and doesn’t run the typical business. He manages working girls and a bar, but looks can be deceiving.  Ezra has his hands full with serial killer Evie. He’s never been the man who screwed the products, but Evie is something else.  She takes pain without a whimper and her breaking point is not so easily found.   Ezra wants to own her and break her all at the same time.  While most of their romance is dark and twisted, you will find yourself semi-laughing along with the ridiculous things that he has to put up with when Evie gets a little poison happy.   The car scene is just one for example.

I can’t wait for more from this amazing writing duo!!
