It begins with a legend . . .
Leads to a betrayal . . .
Provokes a murder . . .
And could end with the score
of a lifetime.
I should have known better
than to fall for a thief. After all, I was one of the best. But Remy St. James
exploded into my life, took what he wanted, then disappeared like smoke.
Unlike a priceless piece of
art, Remy isn't worth chasing. I let him go--and walked away from what was
rightfully mine. Now one of the world's best insurance recovery agents, my
impressive success rate is matched only by Sterling Yates, a by-the-rule-book
rival who hates losing to me almost as much as he hates that he wants me.
And he does want me. It's a
shame I can't get him to cross that line, but then a man that hot with a body
that good can't play by the rules forever.
It's a good life--right up
until I find my mentor dying in a pool of blood on his kitchen floor.
I know what he was chasing. A
legendary collection, spoken of in whispers, hunted in secret. And I know
where--and to who--that search would have led him.
This time, I'm not walking
away, even if it leaves me trapped between old passion and new love.
Heist of Hearts: The
Beginning is a prequel to an all-new romantic suspense series from RITA ® Award
winning author Elizabeth Dyer.
Heist of Hearts is a brilliant starter for Elizabeth Dyer's new series. From the moment I started reading, I didn't want to put this one down, and I admit, I was sucked in immediately. Although this is a novella, I'm glad Elizabeth wrote it. There are a lot of aspects that are shown, so I feel this was definitely needed before diving into the first book.
With any Elizabeth Dyer's books, there is always a hint of mystery. I found myself wondering who the "villain" of this series will be. Is it someone I met in this one? Is it a person who will eventually come into play later? I'm honestly not sure, and I know when this person comes into light, I'll be surprised.
I also loved the fact this new series is something different for me. Sure, I've read about this type of genre before, but this is a completely different take on the thief side of things. Plus, there is a lot of suspense leading up towards the end, so I'm super excited to see how book one goes.
Again, Elizabeth Dyer has nailed another book for me. I highly recommend checking her out, because every single book she writes, you can't help but get sucked in. I cannot wait to start this series, and I'm highly anticipating what will happen next.
