Review: Resistance by K.E. Osborn

Publication Date: May 20th, 2018

Series: Chicago Defiance MC #1
Rating: 5 Stars

Official Blurb: Isn't it funny?
The way your life can alter in the blink of an eye.

My club – constantly under siege by the Italian mafia.
My city – in a war lasting two generations caused by our fathers.

Yet, in amongst the turmoil, I met her.
In a froyo store.
This sassy woman who’s ready to throw down and defend her friends against my brothers and me.
But we aren't the enemies in this story, and little did she know our chance encounter would set us along a different path.

This story isn't full of partying and fun – it's chaos, carnage, deception, and lies.

War – it's brutal.

Can you resist?

Review: This was my first book by the author, and I really enjoyed it. A lot more actually than I originally thought. I’m a big fan of MC, but this one, takes a new spin for me in this genre. I enjoyed the way it was written, and it really makes you look at things a lot differently.

I really liked both Torque and Heely. He was all alpha male, but she gave it right back to him, and she didn’t back down. Joining the MC life can be a little intimidating for some, but Heely jumped right in head first, and she fit right into the mix. There was a perfect balance between their relationship, as well as the club life, and the secondary characters are great as well.

One of my favorite things about the way this book was written, is how they actually include their women into the mix. Once a female has become an Old Lady, she is allowed to know several things about her partner, and I really loved it. It’s like they were equals, instead of it being just between the brothers. Yes, there are still rules, but this book opens the light on MC in a new way I’ve never seen done before, and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next one.
