Review: Untrainable by Jamie Schlosser

Publication Date: December 13th, 2018

Series: Standalone
Rating: 5 Stars

Official Blurb: It doesn’t take much to become the laughing stock of reality television. Just ask Theodore “Theo-Dog” Legend. Once you’ve pissed on a fire hydrant in front of the paparazzi, no one ever lets you forget it.

Hadley Holiday is on her way to being America’s sweetheart, thanks to her dog training routine on a national talent show. Although she didn’t win first prize, she snagged Theo’s attention and he’ll do just about anything to make her his—even if it means being the butt of everyone’s joke once again.

Hadley wants a career in showbiz. Theo needs to get rid of that doggone nickname—pun intended. Pairing the two together on a new show sounds like a disaster waiting to happen... or it could be the best thing that’s ever happened to them.

Review: I fell in love with Jamie’s writing, since her very first book. Each one is unique in it’s on way, but this one takes the cake. I loved every single word from start to finish, and I couldn’t put it down.

I know Theo had a bad reputation, and he always seemed to find himself in so many crazy situations, but I adored him right from the beginning. There was just something about him, well everything about him actually, that I couldn’t get enough of. The more his story went the more my heart broke for him, and I literally wanted to crawl through my kindle and just hold him. My heart also melted for all the sweet and beautiful things he did for Hadley. God, this book pulled out so many emotions.

I knew I was going to love Hadley too from the beginning as well. She was so sweet and cute and just the perfect match for Theo. I also loved how Hadley’s family just accepted Theo in with open arms. He became a part of their family traditions just like he had always been there. Yes, these two came from two totally different worlds, but they were so perfect for each other.

I also loved the passion, connection, and chemistry they shared together. There were so many obstacles Hadley and Theo had to overcome, but together, they bonded even more. I swear this has to be my most favorite read in a long time.

Review: Destroy by Nikki Sloane

Review: Destroy: A Sordid Series Novella by Nikki Sloane
Publication Date: December 31st, 2018
Series: 3
Rating: 5 stars

Official Blurb:
My entire life fell apart once. It took everything I had to pull it back together and drag myself out of the darkness.
This stranger who bought my art was supposed to be my hero, but instead he’s the villain. He threatens to destroy all I’ve worked for—my sculpture, my rebuilt reputation, my life. All I have is my art, and I’ll do anything to save it from his predatory hands.
Even if it means offering myself instead.

Review:
Destroy was a fast but a scorching hot read! Again, Nikki Sloane had intrigued me from page one, and I didn’t put the book down until I finished.
Normally, I don’t like to read novellas because they are so short, and that’s still true, but I couldn’t stop myself from devouring Destroy. It was packed with heat, and it reminded me of why I love the Sordid Series. I highly recommend picking this one up, especially if you’re looking for something fast, but yet will leave you wanting more.

I’m startled out of my thoughts when my brother jumps up and shouts a bunch of profane nonsense, hands flailing like he’s trying to swim on land, or approximate the chicken dance while on an LSD trip. “You can’t do this! It’s absolute bullshit!” Armstrong yells. I look around the table, trying to piece together what I missed. “I’m sorry, Armstrong. I know this is a shock, but we feel it’s in the company’s best interest to put Lincoln at the helm during this transitional stage,” G-mom says firmly. At the helm? I look to G-mom who’s busy not looking at me. Armstrong jabs at finger at himself. “But I’m the one who’s put in all the time here! I deserve to run the company! Lincoln doesn’t know the first thing about Moorehead. All he knows how to do is dig wells and forage for food in the wilderness. How are those valuable assets here?” He turns his attention to our mother. “Did you know about this? How can you let this happen? Look at him. How can that be the face of our company? He looks like he crawled out of a gutter and mugged a twenty-year-old college kid on a bender. How is this better for our bottom line?” My mother clasps her hands in front of her. “I’m sorry, Armstrong, but this decision wasn’t mine to make. I know this is hard for you, but your grandmother and fath—” Armstrong stomps his foot, exactly as a toddler would. “The company is mine! Lincoln can’t have it!” I raise a hand, half to quiet my brother and also to find out what the freaking deal is. “Whoa, let’s back this bus up. Can someone explain what’s going on?” “You’ve been appointed as the CEO of Moorehead Media, according to the will,” Christophe—no R, because that would make it far too pedestrian a name—my father’s lawyer says. I’m working on trying to remain calm as I address my grandmother. “You didn’t say anything about me being CEO. You said you needed my help.” “Running the company, yes,” she says through a practiced, stiff smile. It’s her warning face, but seriously, when she said she needed my help for a few months I figured it meant I’d be keeping Armstrong in line while she sorted out who was going to take over the company, which I realize now was a stupid assumption. “I didn’t think that meant CEO. How am I going to run a company with this dickhead on staff?” I motion to my brother. “The name calling is unnecessary,” G-mom replies. “Lincoln’s not even part of this family! He hasn’t attended one event in the past five years except for Dad’s funeral. He didn’t bother coming to my wedding and now he’s going to run the company? How is that fair?” I snort. “Your wedding was an expensive joke.” He crosses his arms over his chest. “I was set up. Amalie had cold feet and made me out to look like the bad guy.” The woman beside him shoots him disgusted look. Armstrong clears his throat and tugs at his collar. “My wedding is not the real issue. The point is that you’ve never involved yourself in any part of this family and now you think you can come in and take over. I will not stand by and let this happen!” He keeps jabbing his finger at me, as if he’s engaged in a finger sword fight. I lean back in my chair and lace my fingers behind my neck. Armstrong has always been reactive. And self-absorbed. For a while it seemed like he finally had it together—back when he was engaged. But ever since that fiasco of a wedding he seems to have come completely unglued. Again. But worse this time. “Someone needs a timeout.” ***Please note this is an unedited excerpt and is subject to change.***

Release Boost: Taking Back His Bride by Madison Faye

Title: Taking Back His Bride
Author: Madison Faye
Genre: Standalone Second Chance Romance Novella
Release Date: January 14, 2019

Blurb

We vowed forever. What we got was two years.
But now I’m back to take back what was stolen from me.
She’s mine to have, and mine to hold.
Again.

A filthy oil-rig roughneck like me had no business with a wife like her. She was the pretty little flower I never should have put my dirty hands on. But Leanna was my everything. My heart. My obsession. And one year ago, they told me another man took her away from me.

…I just found out that was bullshit. And now, there’s going to be hell to pay.

Her family never thought I was good enough for her. The wrong side of the tracks, and too rough and savage for their sweet, innocence Leanna. They lied to keep me from her, and her from me. But now that I know the truth?

Well, now I’m coming back for what’s mine.

I’m twice the man I was before—harder, fiercer, and even more obsessed. For richer or for poorer? Well, she had me poor and loved every second of my rough hands pinning her to our marriage bed. I’ve made my fortune since, but I’m ready to throw it all away to get her back in my arms where she belongs.

The bastards that took her from me think they can keep us apart.

…They’re dead fucking wrong.

A year ago, I thought I lost her. Two days ago, I learned the truth. And tonight, I’m taking back my bride.

And I’ll burn the whole world down to get her if I have to.

Looking for a ridiculously over the top alpha hero completely obsessed with claiming his one and only? You’re in the right place! This one’s equal parts sweeter than sugar and hotter than sin, and I’m pretty sure you’re going to eat it right up ;).

As with all my books, this standalone is safe, with no cheating, and a HEA guaranteed.
