Publication Date: 5/2/2017
Series: Jane Yellowrock #11
Rating: 5 Stars
Jane Yellowrock is a shape-shifting skinwalker…and the woman rogue vampires fear most. Jane walks softly and carries a big stake to keep the peace in New Orleans, all part of her job as official enforcer to Leo Pellisier, Master of the City. But Leo’s reign is being threatened by a visit from a delegation of ancient European vampires seeking to expand their dominions.
But there’s another danger to the city. When she hears reports of revenant vampires, loose in NOLA and out for blood, Jane goes to put them down—and discovers there’s something unusual about these revenants. They never should have risen.
Jane must test her strength against a deadly, unnatural magic beyond human understanding, and a ruthless cadre of near-immortals whose thirst for power knows no bounds…
You know the last time that the Europeans tried to invade the US it didn’t end well. You’d think in the Mithran community that they would have learned that lesson, but Cold Reign proves that they didn’t after the American Revolution.
Cue Jane, Bruiser, and her crew to take care of the problem that comes with the new European invasion. The blood runs thick in Cold Reign, and the action doesn’t pick its proverbial foot off the gas pedal until the end. Seriously. The end. Jane is forced to face new foes, and Beast gets her fill of the action as well. Add in her newly formed family, and it’s a rag tag team event of busting vampire skulls and taking names. Leo is his normal self. He plays his cards close to his chest and because of his actions nearly loses several loved ones in the process. There is a twist in Cold Reign that will leave fans reeling. The implications have limitless possibilities, and I am excited about where this could lead things in the future. Be prepared to squee, melt, scream, and cry once Cold Reign concludes.
