Tragedy brings them together.
Life may tear them apart.
Two years after losing my wife and unborn child, I’m at rock bottom. I blanket my life with addictions to ease the pain.
Until life takes me on a detour, guiding me for a path I never expected.
Meeting Hannah Harris and those enticing deep emerald eyes makes the darkness shimmer and the oxygen in my lungs flow whenever she’s near me. When I’m with her, everything falls easily into place and she relieves the pain, making it easy to live. I’m clinging on to her for solace and salvation.
But how do I find a way to breathe in a new life and love while learning how to exhale the agony of my past?

I actually finished this book a few days ago, but it honestly took me that long to get my feelings together after finishing. Here it is days later, and I am still thinking about this book. It is very emotional from start to finish. This book will take you on a journey of pain, suffering, loss, love, and second chances.
I am going to be careful writing this review because this is a book that needs to be read from start to finish. Logan is a character that I felt so much sorrow for. He lost so much at once and never truly knew how to move on. He was holding onto the past with such a strong force, but the minute he meets Hannah his whole world starts to shift. At first, Logan fights his feelings for Hannah and tries everything to keep her in the friend zone, but those plans quickly change the more he realizes the true beauty inside of her.
Hannah is probably one of the most compassionate characters I have ever read about. She has suffered through her own tragic experiences, but she puts aside her feelings for Logan. She is there with him through every step of the way, and I honestly don’t know how she made it.
This story definitely took me on an emotional roller coaster ride to hell and back again. My heart literally broke into several times. The only thing that I hope for is more of the story. I was left a bit confused and frustrated towards the end, and felt like the story needed more. At least I wanted more, and I hope that the author at least brings in a novella because I would love to see these two again.
