Release Blitz: Beauty by Mary Catherine Gebhard

Title: Beauty: A Hate Story, The End
Series: Hate Story Duet #2
Author: Mary Catherine Gebhard
Genre: Romantic Suspense/Dark Romance
Release Date: September 21, 2017

Once upon a time, I thought love was a fairytale.

My prince was a Beast with blood on his hands and ice in his veins. My family offered to save me. The only price: leaving the tattered pieces of my heart behind.

Our love was irrational. Cruel. Unforgiving. Nothing like the storybooks said it should be—but it was perfect.

The longer we were apart, the more I lost myself. He was vicious and domineering, but I craved the submission. Together we were destructive, but I was addicted to the devastation. Still, I thought titles mattered. To my family I was princess, and to the Beast I was slave. I was too na├»ve to understand that even though he’d been my captor, he’d broken the shackles on my soul.

Once upon a time, I thought love meant happily ever after.

Now I know better.

*~*~* 5 Stars *~*~*

Beauty is the second part to A Hate Story. The first book is Beast and I would highly recommend reading these in order. Otherwise, the story won’t make sense.
I’m going to have to go out on a limb here and say Beauty will be a top read for me. It was just brilliant and I really loved it. I also have to say, there were a lot of times that I was hanging off the edge of my seat, heart pounding, and felt pure panic at some of the situations Beast aka Anteros and Frankie found themselves in. If the mafia was real (which it may very well be) I feel like this book nails it. It’s everything I love to see in mafia novels, and I honestly didn’t think I could’ve loved these characters even more than the first book. But I did and it was epic.
Anteros and Frankie just have this connection that no one understands. For a while, they don’t even get it. But the more I read, the more the story-line went on, I just knew something big was going to happen. I had a few ideas of how things could go, but it wasn’t predictable at all. I will say there were moments when Frankie did frustrate me, but it wasn’t as bad as the first book. Frankie does grow into her character in this one which really made Beauty so much better. I loved Anteros. I just couldn’t seem to not love him, even at his worst. Anteros is just … Anteros. There’s no way to really explain him without giving anything away, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
This book is not sweet or sappy. It has chaos, violence, and it’s dark. This book was so my cup of tea, so I really can’t praise it high enough. The entire book was just fantastic. Especially that ending! I really don’t think the author could’ve ended it better. I’m sad to see Anteros and Frankie’s story end, but I know I’ll be reading their journey again and again. I highly recommend checking this one and Beast out. It’s a definite page turner.
