Review: The Play Mate by Kendall Ryan

Publication Date: March 13th, 2017

Series: Roommates #2
Rating: 4 Stars

Official Blurb: His best friend's little sister is all grown up … and ready to play in a whole new way.

Smith Hamilton has it all—he's smart, good-looking and loaded. But he remembers a time when he had nothing and no one, so he's not about to mess up, especially with his best friend’s little sister. That means keeping Evie at arm's length … even though the once pesky little girl is now a buxom bombshell. A sexy blonde who pushes his self-control to the limit the night she crawls into bed with him.

Evie Reed knows she's blessed—with an exclusive education, a family who loves her, and a new job managing social media for her family's lingerie company. But she wants more, like a reason to wear the sexy lingerie herself. She has just the man in mind to help with that. She's crushed on Smith forever. Surely tricking her way into his bed will force him to see her in a new, adult way.

Except that when Evie's plan leads to disaster, she and Smith must decide—ignore the attraction sizzling between them, or become play mates and risk it all.

Review: Ahhh best friend’s little sister… I am all in!! Forbidden relationships are the best kind I swear it makes the chemistry so much better. And believe me Evie and Smith’s relationship starts of with a slow burn, but ends with a bang.

Evie wants a do over in because her first time is horrible. She knows she wants it to be memorable so why not with her brother’s best friend she has been crushing on for years. Not only will Evie get a do over, but she will also finally be able to move on from Smith. Easy peasy right? Yeah not so much because Evie’s plan doesn’t go like she thought.

Smith knows Evie is off limits, but hey he’s a man and he can’t help but notice how much little Evie has grown up. But he isn’t willing to risk his relationship with Cullen or is he? When Evie sneaks in his room one night everything suddenly changes and Smith knows he has to have her no matter what.

I love how Evie and Smith didn’t jump straight into a sexual relationship. Both had to fully know what they wanted and take time before fully committing to change everything. There were a few things I wish would have been in more detail, but overall it was a very good read.
