Title: The List
Author: Chantal Fernando
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 15, 2017
On a random night out with her girlfriends, Taye experiences something she hasn’t before.
Between vodkas and dance moves she probably shouldn’t be doing in public, never mind on a podium, she meets him.
She’s never had a one night stand before, and to have one is on her list of things to experience in her life.
Not only that, but the chemistry is off the charts.
She’s going home with this man, and she’s not going to regret it when she leaves him in the morning.
Or at least that’s what she thinks.

So this is my first book by this author and it’s not quite what I expected. Reading a book that is lightly based on a true story can be fun and different, but this book was so up and down and all over the place it was hard to connect with Taye or Eli.
Taye meets Eli and thinks he is a one-night stand and of course things turn different. Taye and Eli build a sexual relationship where no feelings are supposed to be involved, but sometimes the heart wants what it wants. It’s hard to explain without giving things away, but this book is definitely not what I expected. At times, I liked Taye, but I felt like she stopped her life for a guy that wasn’t all in. And I couldn’t really connect with Eli because we don’t know much about him. He always shuts down convos and never lets Taye in and of course majority of the book he is away. Now there is some sexy moments and hot chemistry between these two, but at the same time there wasn’t really any deep passion or connection except them running into each other at odd times. There is a lot of drinking and bar hopping in this book too so I felt like their relationship was based a lot around alcohol. I wanted to like this book, but I wanted too see connection between Taye and Eli. There is an HEA so that’s definitely a plus.
