Blog Tour: Rhapsody by Cecilia London

Synopsis (Black) Deja Vu Serif - Legal

"I'm never going to stop loving you, Caroline. It's just not possible." Major Caroline Gerard returns from a dangerous mission battered and bruised. Terrified to confront the emotional and physical gap between her and her husband, she's determined to do whatever it takes to avoid reality.

Commander Jack McIntyre has been tasked with saving American democracy, but he has to save his marriage first. He's desperate to regain the passionate connection that he and his wife once shared. And a man on a mission will sacrifice anything to succeed.

In the meantime, the rebellion is in need of a catalyst to spur international action to stop President Santos’ increasingly unstable behavior. As Caroline and Jack repair their hearts, each day brings new secrets and new challenges, and a revelation that could shatter everything they thought was true.

Rhapsody is the fifth book in The Bellator Saga. It should be read after the first four books in the series.

4.5 star review
I’m honestly not sure where or how to begin to express how I feel after reading Rhapsody. My emotions are still all over the place, and it’s been a few days since I finished. From the very beginning I was worried how this book was going to go. It could’ve went several different ways, and the first fifty percent I was either angry or heartbroken. It was very hard at times to keep reading this one, especially after everything Caroline and Jack have been through. I didn’t realize this book was going to be such a roller-coaster ride. I should’ve known Cecilia London wouldn’t make it easy, because that’s not her style. Of course Rhapsody was super well written, as I’ve said with each book, Cecilia has a gift with turning words into what they are. I will say, Cecilia pulls out the angst in this one. I swear there were times I thought I was going to break my kindle because of how mad I got. I literally had to walk away from reading more than once because of the situation Caroline and Jack were in. I will say, I found it very hard to like Caroline in this one. Don’t get me wrong, Caroline has always been the strong, independent woman that I’ve always loved, but she really made me want to pull my hair out in this book. I totally get why she did what she had, I do, but holy crap in a basket it was super hard to read that. That’s where the heartbreak comes in. Oh boy, Cecilia you ripped my soul out then put me back together. For a little while I thought things were going to keep being wonderful and great, then holy cow that cliffhanger! I sort of knew it was coming, and believe me, if you’ve been reading since Dissident then you’ll know what I’m talking about. I’ll admit, I really hated reading that cliffhanger. But on the other hand, I’m glad it ended that way. It’s definitely set up to make one heck of a final book for the next one.
I will say this, it takes a lot for me to get emotionally involved in a book like I was with Rhapsody. Cecilia really did out do herself with the angst, so if you love that in a book then you will love this one. I’m not sure how I’m going to make it until the next book comes out, but I know it’ll be worth the wait. I highly recommend checking this saga out and seeing for yourself how great this series can be.
