Shannon Hale knows what she wants in life. Or so she thought. But one cheating fiancĂ© and shredded wedding dress later, she skips town desperately needing a do-over. So she moves in with her brother, the new quarterback for the Raleigh Rough Riders, starts her own business, and vows to live by her own rules and no one else’s. Oliver Powell is a man who always gets what he wants. As the sexy as sin MVP Tight End, he’s arrogant. He’s loaded. He’s also got a sizable package below the belt that drives the women crazy. And he’s focused. The prize—a Super Bowl ring on his finger. His concentration on getting that ring is unwavering—until Shannon Hale shows up. Now the only game he wants to win involves her ending up in his bed. The problem? Shannon wants nothing to do with NFL’s resident playboy. The solution? Play dirty.

*~*~*~ 4 Stars *~*~*~*

This was my first book by Stacey and I enjoyed it very much. I love football books and this has the right amount of football, lust, love, chemistry and passion. This book is told in duel POV so we get both Shannon and Oliver.

Shannon is coming off a horrible break up. The man she was supposed to marry and spend the rest of her life with turns out to be her worst mistake. Shannon decides to move closer to her brother Beaux who is the new quarterback. Shannon has always been Beaux’s biggest supporter so when she goes to his practice she meets Oliver Powell. From the moment Oliver opens his mouth, Shannon knows he’s trouble. But how far is she willing to let things go?

Oliver is cocky, arrogant, kind of a prick and a bad boy with a dirty mouth who isn’t looking for more than a one-night stand. Oliver has been burned before and he keeps his guard up. But the minute his lips connect with Shannon’s he knows she’s a game changer. Will Oliver let Shannon in or will both of them end up broken hearted forever?

I really liked seeing the changes in both Shannon and Oliver. Both are struggling from their pasts, but are trying to move forward. Yes, there is some bumps along the way. The past can’t stay hidden forever. But I adored them together and the ending… SWOON!  I am also excited to find out this is going to be a series. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

About the Author

Stacey Lynn currently lives in Minnesota with her husband and four children.
