Series: Hope Town #3
Rating:  5 Stars

Official Blurb:

It’s nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I’ve witnessed it—I’ve seen the power of it—but I’ve also seen the pain. Because for me, I’ve only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I’m not sure I can because I only feel complete when I’m with her.

The only time I feel like I belong is when he’s near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I’m not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I’m with him.

He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn’t understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.

I’m going to flat out admit that combination of Nate’s man bun and Locke’s quips made this book for me.  Bleeding Love set a precedence in the Hope Town series that I didn’t think could be surpassed by anyone else, but Maddox F-ing Locke and Nate pushed Bleeding Love to 2nd place.  From the first time he opened that mouth of his, I wanted to offer him my heart, panties, and keys to my house all at once.  Holy hell.. just… *melts*

I think Harper broke the fictional man mold with Nate.  There’s no one like him in ANY of the hundreds of books that I have read and that’s truly saying something.  He’s sweet yet dirty. Driven yet laid back.  Tough yet willingly to bend to Locke’s demands about his sweet little girl.  All alpha f-ing male. You can definitely tell he belongs to Axle.  Nate is also very stupid when it comes to matters of the heart and Emberlyn.  One mistake and his chances with her go from probable to have-to-get-passed-Locke-and-win-her-heart-back-impossible.  Would you want to face Locke knowing that he could kill you without even trying?

Now where Nate is hardcore and driven, Emberlyn is sweet and shy.  She’s been burned more than once by Nate and her heart seems to be one crack more away from just shattering completely. The relationships she’s had just don’t compare to what she dreams of with Nate. He’s ruined her without even really touching her.  Well, there was that one time, but you’ll just have to read about that on your own. She knows how to press her Daddy’s buttons, and let me tell you what, there are moments in this book where her sass will crack you up.

As with all of Harper’s books, the romance is like a 6 alarm fire.  You’re going to need a fan, a cold shower, and maybe even a spare set of batteries to make it through When I’m With You.  She knows how to make readers feel that connection and chemistry between the characters and with every new book in the series, the list of book boyfriends just keeps on growing.  Sloan knows how to consume you and how to leave you begging for me when the last page is turned. Now… whose next?
