Grave Visions by Kalayna Price is the much-anticipated fourth installment in the kick-ass urban fantasy series about Alex Craft, a grave witch who can communicate with the dead.

If you want to hear voices from the dead in Nekros City, you call Alex Craft. She's a Grave Witch with reasonable rates and extraordinary powers, who specializes in revealing the secrets of the dead. But now she's the one fighting to keep her own secret. She's not human—and her newly discovered heritage is causing havoc for her both in the human realm and in Faerie. But her status as an unaffiliated fae also makes her an ideal candidate to investigate a new street drug that has surfaced in several of the spaces between the human and fae worlds.

This glamour-infused drug causes hallucinations that turn real—at least for a while and often with deadly consequences. Searching for the source of this drug—and its purpose—lands Alex front and center in the conflict brewing in Faerie and she must find answers before she's dragged so deep she loses her freedom

OH.MY.GOD! It’s finally here!! Squeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Now that I have that out of the way, I absolutely loved the return of Alex Craft.  This long anticipated novel hit all the right marks for me. As I pined away in the delays of its release, I found my mind always wandering back to this series and the cliffhanger ending of the last book several years back.   In that time, I created what I  thought would be the direction Price would take with this novel so many times to keep the characters alive.  I am so damn glad that I was proven wrong.

Alex’s life continues to spiral out of control with the impromptu new roommate thanks to the Winter Queen’s orders that cannot be trusted.  Oh how I wanted to love Falin, but even as the reader and not the character of this book, I know I can’t trust him because of his ties to the Winter Queen.  His betrayal was like a knife stuck in the heart that after all this time is still open and seeping blood.  He’s the character that you always have to keep an eye on at all times. This doesn’t exactly make things easy when crazy things start happening in the human world that reek of fae mischief.  Alex is forced into helping the Winter Queen with an untrustworthy Falin by her side in order to survive.  She needs the bargain set forth by the Queen and she won’t stop to get the one thing her life depends on.   It’s a high stakes gamble that even Alex Craft may not be able to win.

Are you bouncing with intrigue yet? Because you should be.  I know you may be thinking that there is a specific character that wasn’t mentioned above.  You’d be right.  Death is a part of this novel, but not as much as I would have liked to have seen him.  Even in the scenes he does make an appearance, your heart and your panties will still melt for him.  After all this time I am still #TeamDeath.

For those of you who are still bitter over the length of time it took for this novel to come out,  calm yourselves.  When life gets it in the way, it’s hard for an author’s mind to focus on a fictional world rather than the real world.  Kaylana Price, thank you so much for delivering a new Alex Craft novel that made me both miss and want this series even more.  It is still and will always be one of my favorites, and no matter how long it takes you to write the next one, I will wait because on release day, it’s worth it.
