How long would you wait to be with the one that you love? How much of yourself would you hide in order to keep them?

Brooks knows the moment he meets Vivian that he will do whatever it takes to protect her, even if it means leaving her. Running from his past, he spends the next decade trying to forget the shattered heart that he left behind.

Is there any betrayal worth the cost? Are there some sins that cannot be forgiven?

After a lifetime of rebuilding the walls guarding her heart, Vivian confronts the harsh reality that some fortresses are not meant to stand. Winding through a gray fog of disappointment and deceit, she must conquer her deepest fears to accept the love she believes she is too unworthy to have.

As the paths of these two battered hearts cross once more, together they seek redemption for their sins. However, when the secrets of their pasts come knocking on their door, forgiveness and love will be tested, and they will be forced to answer the question: “When the lies run out, will the truth finally set you free?”

Forgive Us Our Trespasses is an adult contemporary novel and is not intended for younger readers due to mature content.

Review: Where to start with this one? It made my heart skip a beat on more than one occasion. It’s so hard to put all my emotions into this review because it’s an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish. This book is so well written and consumed my life for a few hours. I couldn’t stop once I got started and stayed up until wee hours of the morning because I had to know how everything would play out.

Tragedy hits Vivian right from the get go. She is heart broken and vows to find out who killed her father. Trying to move on with life, she goes to college and meets some life long friends. She also meets Brooks everything is perfect… until it isn’t. Now 10 years later, tragedy has struck Vivian again. While dealing with a broken heart, Brooks enters her life again. But can she let go of the past and move forward on the future when she finds out the truth?

Brooks meets Vivian in college and they eventually fall in love. Brooks finds out a huge secret that changes everything. Instead of telling Vivian he runs. Now 10 years later, fate has brought them back together. Brooks doesn’t want to make the same mistakes again, but he also doesn’t want to lose Vivian. What happens when she finds out the truth?

Whew this book took me through the ringer a few times. There are some HUGE shocker moments in this book that I did not see coming. I actually shed a few tears in this book too. One part really tore me up pretty good. I love that the book took place in college and several years later. I grew close to these characters and even though they made me mad at times I still love them. ML did an amazing job on this book and I can’t wait to read book 2.
