Series: Navy Love Series Book 1

Rating: 5 Stars

Official Blurb:
Sometimes the things we fight hardest against are inevitable in the end.

Hunter Stevenson wasn't interested in wasting nights with bed warmers, he had a daughter to take care of and a life to build. Leaving behind the mother of his four year old child and her incessant partying, Hunter moves closer to his family to help provide Sawyer some stability.

Tessa Daniels didn’t share the ‘typical American dream’ like most girls. A husband, 2.5 kids and a white picket fence weren’t the things she wanted for herself. She had a plan laid out, which included a career in the Navy and being surrounded by her best friends. She was perfectly content with her carefree, fun lifestyle and her casual relationships, but all of that changed when she met him.

What neither of them expected was a nosy brother and best friend with some serious matchmaking skills. The two have an instantaneous pull towards one another, they can’t fight the spark even though they both do. Until one drunken night, Tessa throws herself at Hunter, only to face an agonizing rejection. However, Hunter’s gentlemanly facade doesn’t last with the sassy sailor girl, his alpha attitude quickly emerges in the midst of their sexual tensions.

Hunter refuses to be another one of Tessa’s casual hook-ups, and won’t allow her to run away from the idea of ‘them’. No matter how many obstacles stand in their way of a happily ever after. Now he must convince Tessa that their inevitable love is worth fighting for.

Can their newfound love survive the stress of an impending deployment and Hunter's past pushing it's way back into his life?

**This book can be read as a stand alone.

Review: This was an awesome debut novel by J.C. Santo. I am a sucker for military books, being a military wife, so of course I had to read it plus the cover is H O T!!  One thing I loved about this book was that there wasn’t very much angst yes the couple had to struggle through things but it was normal things that most couple in the military goes through. Yes I did get emotional in the book. Developments and being away from family is hard so of course it hits really close to home. But the characters in this book are amazing. Tessa, Hunter, and of course Marshall and Sawyer will steal your heart right from the get go.

Tessa is a party girl. She isn’t looking for settling down anytime soon. She has her best friend Marshall and of course the freedom to come and go as she pleases. When Marshall announces that his twin Hunter is coming to town, Tessa is of course intrigued to meet him but she next expects him or his sweet little daughter to knock her back a few steps and make her look at things she never could have dreamed.

Hunter….. OMG … HUNTER!!! I was completely smitten…single dad, teacher, alpha male, tattoos, and the list goes on and on. Hunter is a fantastic father and does everything for his daughter Sawyer. He decides the best thing for them is to up and move closer to his family. Marshall has been talking up the beauty who is Tessa from the get go but Hunter never expects to fall hard right from the start.

It’s so hard to describe every single part in this book that I enjoyed because I loved it from start to finish. I love watching the changes in Tessa and watching her grow into a loving and compassionate mother figure. I also loved seeing how much Hunter adore Tessa and Sawyer. Yes these two had to go through some hard times. Anna being a key factor… and I am still not convinced that I feel anything for her at all. If you are looking for a book that literally sweeps you off your feet and makes your heart skip a beat then this is definitely the book for you. Great job J.C. I can’t wait for the next book.
