Review: Wicked Edge by Rebecca Zanetti

Publication Date: 10/10/2015
Series: Realm Enforcers #2
Rating: 4 Stars

Official Blurb:

If you love the Dark Protectors, these wicked hot Realm Enforcers are for you!

Daire Dunne is more than ready to take a quick break from his duties as a Coven Nine Enforcer. When he spots a sexy blonde across a Titan’s of Fire party, it’s not long before she’s on the back of his Harley on the fast track to his apartment. Unfortunately, one overheated kiss in, the woman drugs Daire and steals valuable files that can’t fall into enemy hands. The second he comes to, the hunt is on...

Now that Cee Cee has the information to take down an enemy that destroyed her family, she can implement her perfect plan for revenge. Nothing will stop her, not even a shockingly sexy enforcer barging into her life. Not even the spectacular, fire-branding sex engulfing them. But if Daire ever figures out who her family really is, all bets are off...

I would like to extend a thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of Wicked Edge.

As most of you know, I am a longtime fan of Rebecca Zanetti’s work. We are talking ignore life until the last page is turned kind of fandom love here.  When I granted an ARC of Wicked Edge, I jumped for joy and immediately shoved away everything that I had planned to do for that day off to the side to dive into this book.  Strangely enough, I found myself struggling a little bit at first with Wicked Edge. I have sat down and thought about this review for some days now and I honestly can’t pinpoint why I didn’t have my usual insta-love with a Zanetti novel.  The characters were likeable and the story line was engaging, but I felt like there was something missing to the story yet I can’t put my finger on the issue I’m having. Maybe it’s just a me thing.

I loved CeeCee and her crazy freedom antics. She’s the kind of character and woman that I would really love because she doesn’t take shit off of anyone and now that she’s finally free, her long to do list of pain and suffering is going to be enacted.  Daire was just as good as a character. He’s a dark and brooding alpha male who desperately wants the woman, CeeCee, who keeps barreling into his life and drugging him to get her way.  He was sexy and hot just as a male romance character should be. I do have to make a note that the scene between him and her sons was priceless and perfect.  No grown man wants to see his mom date a dangerous kind of fellow after their Dad died.  The batter between these characters was spot on and funny as hell.

Wicked Edge is another great novel from Zanetti and a wonderful new addition to the blossoming Realm Enforcers series.
