Review: Blurred Lines by Scott Hildreth

Publication Date: September 20, 2015

Series: Bodies, Ink & Steel book 1

Rating: 5 Stars

Official Blurb: Riley Campbell is no stranger to loss. After losing her father in a car accident at a young age, she decides to forfeit the relationship she has with her mother and move in with an older man at the age of 17. Four years later, after ending the relationship due to being physically abused, she feels the need for a celebratory tattoo; her first of what she expects to be many. Her expectations of the parlor, the artist, and the process are pretty weak as she walks in.

Upon entering, she's pleasantly surprised.

Covered in tattoos, handsome, mysterious, and muscular, Blake West is not at all what Riley expected to find, but exactly what she feels she needs.

Blake is the mysterious owner of Blurred Lines, a tattoo parlor that not only has provided him with a steady income, but in the past supplied a constant stream of women into his life. Now, however, things for him are much different. Blake is a recovering sex addict, and is focusing on being faithful. Details of his sordid past, however, are sketchy at best.

As he begins the process of tattooing her for the first time, Riley feels an almost addiction to the process, the feeling of being tattooed, the ink on her skin, and ultimately, Blake.

As the tattooing of Riley continues, so does her knowledge of Blake. Life-long secrets unveil themselves, and as they do, she realizes not only how much they are alike, but the truth surrounding her father's death.

"Everyone has secrets; revealing them is simply a matter of finding out where to dig."

AUTHORS NOTE: HEA, stand-alone, no cheating, no sex outside the relationship.

Review: This was my very first book by Scott and I have to say I am 100% hooked. This book is really good and kept me interested from start to finish. I love Riley and Blake! This are some pretty shocking moments in this book so be ready. Not everything is as it appears….

Riley is coming out of a bad relationship that she has been in for 4 years. Even though it’s been six months, she finally feels she is ready to move on with her life so what better way than to get her first tattoo. When Riley walks into Blurred Lines, she is hooked on Blake from the get go. She can feel the attraction between them and knows there is more to Blake that what he let’s everyone see.

I love Blake so much. Yes he is kind of weird and yes he is kind of crazy but that makes me love him a little more. Blake is a recovering addict. He struggles everyday not to have any slip ups and continues to go to his meetings often. Blake has suffered a lot throughout his life so I was pulling for him to get his HEA.

I don’t do spoilers and this is definitely a book that needs to be read from start to finish without any. There are a lot of twists and turns and several things I did not see coming. Riley and Blake are perfect for each other. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
