When life gives you lemons, it’s time for shots of tequila. That’s my new saying in life, and trust me, life handed me lots of lemons.  For eighteen years I took those lemons that life and “destiny” threw at me and made lemonade, but I’m no longer a naive girl. I was forced to grow up too fast and the one person I depended on turned his back on me. So now I say screw the lemonade and just give me a bottle of tequila, because I don’t believe in destiny anymore.  There is no pre-designed path set out for each of us. Sometimes bad things happen, it’s just a part of life. It sucks, but you have to pick yourself up and get on with your life. I’m done just sitting around and waiting for my life to change or something good to just fall in my lap. It took me a while to understand, but once I was done being the doormat to destiny, it was time for me to take control. I would decide where I would go in life. It wouldn't always be pretty, it would sometimes hurt like hell, but I would make sure I lived my life to the fullest.  It was time to rewrite my destiny.

After reading the blurb of this book I knew I had to read it! I love a book with a strong, independent woman who knows how to kick ass and take names! Danielle is the main character of the book, we find out that at a young age she has already been through a lot. Her mother passes away when she is at the tender age of 3, and her dad signs over his rights to her Grandmother because he just cannot handle raising his daughter! Oh that part made me so mad, but alas its part of the book and only makes our Danielle stronger. She grows up in a loving home with her grandmother who raises her. Enter Zeke and Zane, two neighbor boys who become best friends with Danielle. They are like the older brothers she never had.

Everything is great, but all things must come to an end, tragedy strikes and again Danielle is faced with death. Leaning on Zane for support she realizes that she loves him, but will he ever love her in return.
I loved reading this book, there is so much that happens and a lot of changes to the characters. It will have you laughing one minute, and the next you will have tears in your eyes. I went through all the emotions while reading this one. I loved every minute of it, it keeps you interested and makes you want to find out what happens with Danielle and Zane. I have to say though, I was really pissed off at Zane for 50% of the book and even awhile after that! He has his own reasons for what he does, and you gotta love him!

After everything Danielle goes through, she comes out strong, and independent! I love the person that she became and how she dealt with the lemons that life threw at her. I’m excited to see what the rest of their story holds!
