Review: Forever Red by Carina Adams

Review: Forever Red by Carina Adams

Publication Date: April 9, 2015

Series: Bama Boys #1

Rating: 4 Stars

Official Blurb: Not afraid to speak his mind or make a scene, Nathaniel Kelly has made a name for himself as country music’s ultimate bad boy.
Covered in tattoos, singing songs about drugs, drinking and heartache, Nate acts more like an out of control rock star than the grandson of one of the genres most influential and legendary stars. Every man wants to be him. Every woman wants just one night with the hard-rocking country rebel.
Except me. I just want to know that the boy I used to love is happy and that I didn’t break his heart in vain. That’s why I buy every magazine that even mentions his name; at least, that’s the story I tell myself.
When my friends gave me a birthday present any fan would die for, I was suddenly face-to-face with the man I never thought I’d see again. My body wasn’t supposed to react to him the way it did. And, Nate sure as hell wasn’t supposed to look at me the way he used to.
Can someone you loved as a teenager really have a hold on your heart twelve years later? Is it ever too late to say you’re sorry and make up for past wrongs? I’m about to find out.

This was my first book by Carina and I couldn’t put it down. It is packed from start to finish. If you like to read about young love, lust, lies, hurt, secrets, best friends, and a bad boy/country boy who will melt your panties off then this is definitely the book for you.

This book starts in the present and quickly switches to the past so we get the younger versions of Lia and Nate/Neil. I loved watching these two fall in love. Lia was a girl that came from a different side of the tracks and Nate was the new kid in town that everyone loved right away. Lia never thought so was good enough for Nate but he sees the wonderful and beautiful girl that she really is. I don’t want to give too much away but these two go throw so much and have some many people working against them. Lia decides this is her chance to give Nate the life she thinks he deserves so she runs.

Years later these two meet up again. A lot has changed over the years. Lia is not the young naive girl she once was and Nate is not the same loving sweet boy he once was. Their pasts have ripped these two into broke pieces. They both still have so many deep feelings for each other but yet again their past are still right in the way.

One thing I loved about this book is the secondary characters. I loved the relationships between all of them and the back and forth batter. Take Lia and Nate’s past friends mixed in with new friends and it’s definitely a crazy ride. Things are not easy for Nate and Lia. They have a lot working against them and things are not what they once were when they were kids. But their love and chemistry is so strong that they are both determined to fight it out for each other. I am actually hoping some of the other characters get books. There are a few I would love to see. Can’t wait for more.
