Review: The Air He Breathes by Brittainy Cherry

Publication Date: September 25, 2015

Series: Standalone
Rating: 5 Amazing Stars

Official Blurb: I was warned about Tristan Cole.

“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

Be ready to go through a whole entire box of tissues. This story right here is one of the most passionate and heartbreakingly beautiful stories I have ever read. This is a book that will stay with me forever because once you read it I promise you will never forget. Tristan and Elizabeth broke my heart over and over just to build it back up again. Brittainy couldn’t have told this story any better at all. It was absolutely amazing and by far her best book yet!

The book goes back and forth between Tristan and Elizabeth so it takes a bit to find out both of their stories. Elizabeth is barely breathing. She is only holding her head up high for her daughter. She has lost the love of her life and doesn’t know how she will ever recover. After living with her mom, she decides its time to move back home and pick up her life again then enters Tristan.

It took me a bit for Tristan to grow on me. I knew deep down he was broken but I still had hope that somewhere in that cold heart was still a loving a sweet compassionate man. At first, Tristan pushes Elizabeth away because he doesn’t want to have feelings and doesn’t feel like he deserves a friend of someone to care about him. The more I read about Tristan the more my heart broke. I wanted to crawl threw my kindle and just cuddle him.

Elizabeth and Tristan decided to turn to each other for support. They are both remembering their pasts in each other. But then something else happens… their true feelings for each other come out. Now this whole book wasn’t all sad. I actually laughed several times throughout the book. Elizabeth’s best friend Faye is quite a character. At one time she had tears rolling down my face… a word of advice if its super windy don’t go outside. You will understand that part when you read it… funny as hell. But this story did piss me off a few times. I wanted to scream, kick and go rock in a corner. One minute everything is great and then BAM it’s not. There are also HUGE twists and turns I did not see coming. Some actually leave my mouth hanging open. I loved this book from start to finish! Some parts are hard to get through but the end is so worth it. Now I am crossing my fingers for Faye to get a book. GET THIS BOOK NOW!!! You will fall in love with Tristan Cole over and over and over!
