Touching Scars by Stacy Borel

This is the first time I’ve ever read anything by Stacy. All I have to say is damn she’s good.  Her story revolves around a battered soldier returning home from a 2 year tour of duty in Iraq. Timber is the lone survivor of his platoon and the memories from that day have scarred him for life. His nights are filled with dreams of the day that changed everything for him. He returns home to his Dad and tries to start life again. His ghosts continue to haunt him, but not as much as the woman he meets at the local watering hole. He’s met her before and she’s not the girl he remembers. Kat has ghosts of her own that haunt her from her old life.

Shooting Scars is of course a love story, but it’s words hit me a little differently. This story to me is the tale of two damaged people saving each other.  A normal person walking into the shit storm of nightmares would tuck tail and run, but it’s the fact they both have their own demons that understand each other’s needs.  Borel has touched lightly on the effects of PTSD that plague so many of our soldiers and that of rape. Even though this is a work of fiction, I applaud Stacy Borel for tackling so many themes in this novella that need to be brought to the forefront. They are many people out there who are hiding from the shadows because of their experiences in life. I hope that maybe at least one person will read this book and now that you have to fight to get your life back and find someone who will battle the darkness at your side.

Throttle Me - Chelle Bliss

Breathe in… Breathe out… stop staring at the cover…

Okay.. back to the task at hand…

This book! Good fucking grief! City and Suzy have blown my mind. Between his dirty mouth and her dirty minded good girl image I’m not sure who I loved the most. This sexually explosive story literally melted my mind and my panties clear off.

City knows this woman will be his undoing while she struggles with the filthy as fuck biker that wants to claim her as his own. This story isn’t the hearts and flowers kind of romance story you might expect from a romance novel. It’s gritty, sexually and emotionally frustrating that will leave you wanting more!! I found myself at times screaming and shaking my Nook with Suzy and City’s rollercoaster romance. There are some serious pieces to this story that will break your heart and others that will leave you fanning yourself. This book literally has it all for romance, mc, and erotica fans!! Bring on the next Gallo!!!
