Review: What Doesn’t Destroy Us by M.N. Forgy

Publication Date: 6/26/2014
Series: The Devil’s Dust
Rating: 5 Stars

Official Blurb:

When Dani's sheltered life is turned upside down by her mother's secrets, she finds protection with her estranged outlaw father. Against all warnings, she falls for bad boy biker, Shadow. He is beast and beauty sealed in a leather cut with a gun holster. Can Dani learn to live within the Club rules? Is she more like her father than she could imagine?

Shadow has grown up among drug addicts, whores and murderers. The only family he's ever trusted has been the Devil's Dust motorcycle club. He will do anything for a brother; even kill. In fact, killing is so easy, he's made a career of it. His one regret is not being able to kill his own worthless mother. When Dani shows up with her provocative temper and innocent charm, Shadow begins to question his violent lifestyle. But can he trust her with his demons?
Will Dani and Shadow let family ties destroy them?

Dani’s life has far been from traditional as her relationship with her mother continues to deteriorate as she grows older. Just when she thinks she’s on the brink of escape and living on her own, her mother takes way her meal ticket out of her dictatorship and whisks her on a journey to the dark work of an MC. Thanks to her mother their lives are endangered and she’s going to be hidden away in the one place that no one will dare come look for them, Devil’s Dust MC. But, the plot doesn’t stop thickening there, oh no, there’s a reason why that’s where they are going to be hidden, her long lost dad is the president of the club. Daddy’s little princess is about to embark on the ride of her life… literally. She wanted a new life filled with adventure, but I’m not sure she knew that this was how it could come… in Shadow.

Shadow is the club’s Sgt-At-Arms. He’s a leather clad enforcer for the club that would rather sever his own dick off then settle down with an Ol’ lady. His internal darkness and the blood on his hands aren’t deserving of woman to love him. Fuck him sideways when the newly discovered club princess is the daughter of his president. That status alone makes her purely off limits to anyone who wants to still be considered a man after meeting their maker with her father, but tell that to the beast in his pants and the beat of his heart.

This book has literally blown my mind. As tired as I was when I went to bed, I couldn’t put it down. I am lover of all things MC romance it seems lately and this book as moved M.N. Forgy to the top of my favorite MC romance author list. The story was so unexpected and the cliffhanger ending nearly stopped my heart. I literally started the next book in the series because I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I knew how everything unfolded. This author literally has wrapped my heart in a Devil’s Dust cut and made me take the bitch seat to see how this series develops. I think my new motto for life has come from this series.
