Review: Playing With Fire by Cynthia Eden

Publication Date: 8/26/2014
Series: Phoenix Fire #3
Rating: 4 stars

Official Blurb:

Cassie Armstrong has plenty to atone for. The daughter of the most immoral researcher ever to pick up a scalpel, she's determined to use her own brilliance in genetics to repair the damage her family has done to the paranormals. Especially Dante, the first of the phoenixes, the one they call the Immortal. He's been haunting her dreams since she was a little girl, and she's been trying to ease his pain for almost as long. If only he remembered any of it. . .

Dante doesn't know what Cassie's story is. He almost doesn't care. The minute he sees her, all he can think is mine. But there's more to the pretty little doctor than meets the eye. And Dante isn't the only one to notice. He can't trust her, but he can't stay away--and if he wants to learn her secrets, he's going to have to fight like hell to keep them both alive. .

Absolutely wonderful! Ms. Eden has done it again with her marvelously written characters and beautifully developed world. You are sucked into Dante and Cassie’s world from the first page and ride along with them on this incredible journey. Playing With Fire has everything essential that is required for an awesome paranormal romance story, suspense, action, steamy and sexy romance, and those tantalizing plot twists that leave you reeling in your favorite reading easy chair.  Dante is the pinnacle of the PNR hero. He comes from a tortured and dark past. He rises up through the ashes of his past to become the man he’s destined to be.  He’s a kind and loving alpha male. Cassie’s dedication and strength really endeared me to her character. Its not often that you will find a perfect balance of physical and emotional strength paired so equally with her ability to love Dante. I think even non-PNR readers would love this story as much as I did. Thank you Ms. Eden for such an imaginative, and beautiful story!
