 Official Blurb:

From J.R. Ward, the #1 New York Times bestselling author who has kept readers on the edge of their seats with her phenomenal Fallen Angels novels, comes one of the most heart-stirring and eagerly anticipated events in that acclaimed series.

This is a world where sin and salvation collide. This is a world where a cynical fallen angel struggles with the seven deadly sins and seven chosen souls. With the spellbinding Immortal, the riveting series that “changed the face of paranormal romance” (Suit101.com) comes to an epic close as mankind’s reluctant savior struggles with his greatest challenge yet...

I am happy to say that this book series ended the way I thought it would. After being introduced to this series after reading all the available books of Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood Books, I was pleasantly surprised for such a switch in stories. This book series depicts an epic battle of good vs evil. Immortal begins us to the final showdown and epic conclusion to the series. Jim has literally slept with the devil in expensive high heels while battling her for the goodness in the world. Devina has so many deep seeded issues when it comes to her collection of expensive baubles and Jim that it clouds her judgement throughout the series. The way Jim and Devina's characters are written shows that even the saviors for good and evil can toe the line themselves.

Immortal brings back old friends from the dark abyss of Purgatory. I for one jumped up and down when Eddie reappeared. I was so excited knowing he was going to play a part in the final book.  Jim himself as a lead character really exhibited his strength during the battle finale. He shows how much he's learned about how the world works and how the devil will trick you into believing everything. His admittance to Sissy about his feelings also shows that far below his tough exterior that a romantic is hidden. Even with Devina trying to mess with his feelings for Sissy, he knows what he truly wants.. to protect and love Sissy.

I will admit that Immortal will leave you feeling a twinge of sympathy for Devina. The Devil herself learns a lesson in the outcome of the war. Jim broke her heart and realized that evil subjects you to a truly lonely life. I was presently surprised her part in saving someone in the book. She showcased that she might just have a little bit of good underneath all those layers of dark evilness.

The ending itself is just wow. I always had a feeling the final Soul was someone we've known all along. I refuse to spoil it for the rest of you, but you will be happy with the outcome. Those who deserve peace are given peace and those who deserve hell are residing their permanently. The final scene is a tearjerker for sure so keep the Kleenex handy.

One highlight to the ending is that two characters finally find true peace and happiness while two more characters will be moving into the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
