Warning: This book is intended for mature audiences as it contains explicit sex scenes and BDSM themes

I really loved this book. When we first meet Alex he is so cocky and confident that Olivia will fall at his feet right away. But Alex also knows that Olivia is very different than the lifestyle he is use too. Olivia is struggling to make ends meet while trying to take care of her mother who doesn’t even remember who she is. I really liked Olivia from the get go. She is such a sweet and loving person even though she doesn’t know anything about Alex when he propositions her she agrees to marry him just after one encounter. She knows she has to do everything she can to help her mother since her father left when she was a young girl. She Alex sets all the arrangements and just after two weeks Alex and Olivia fly to his home to get married. Olivia falls in love with Alex’s family right away. They are all very loving and accept her right into the family. It’s at the wedding when Alex kisses Olivia she knows she is in trouble with her heart. The arrangement is for Alex and Olivia are only suppose too be married a year and his family will be off his back and Alex with pay all of her debts. Over the next week Alex and Olivia form a friendship on their honeymoon. But once they are back from the honeymoon Alex changes completely. When Olivia goes into the basement one day she realizes that Alex is a Dom and the lifestyle he has been hiding from his family. From that day on Alex and Olivia form a different type of relationship. It was pretty amazing seeing their relationship develop into love. I fell in love with both Alex and Olivia even more. When things start to fall apart, Alex steps up and does everything he can to protect Olivia. I loved watching the changes in Alex after he fully lets Olivia into his heart to help him realize his true feelings about his past. I look forward to more from this author. I would love to see more from Alex and Olivia!!

“Your forfeit for you losing Miss Marshall is that you are to kiss, no snog the face off the next man who comes through those pub doors.” Every single one of our party, including me, turn to face the dreaded doors. The feeling of expectation has just trebled and shot through the roof.
“You're joking, right? What if it's an eighteen year-old student? My job would be on the line or even worse, I'd be classed as a cougar!” My voice ends on a shrill as the realisation of what I've got to do sinks in.
“Come on Marshall, I'm sure your forfeit for me had I lost would have been far worse.” Actually he's probably not wrong there. Having him rub a red-hot chili over his hands and then telling him to wank himself sounds more and more appealing. Next time Rushton, next time.
I rest my head in my hands dreading every second of this and as to who will be the next male to walk in here. Please don't let it be some old geezer either. I groan through my fingers. The silence is deadly as the wait begins. I wish someone would bloody talk to break the drought of conversation, it may just lead to a distraction and then me not having to do it, or at least them remembering when a hot looking Professor walks in.
Actually scratch that thought, as the image of Marc Sanders is now firmly imprinted on my brain. I can hear the laughs from Isabel now, as she most probably would have read my mind. I look up when I hear an over exaggerated intake of breath come from Melissa and once again all eyes are fixed on the doorway.
“You've got to be fucking kidding me!” The words are out of mouth before I can even put my brain into first gear.

Meet the Author:

A J Walters is a contemporary romance author and an Amazon #1 Bestseller in Women's Fiction. Having interests in history, romance and elements of erotica, she has brought all of these together in her debut publications; The Attraction Series.
Wanting to break the trend of size 12 virgins in books, A J Walters has introduced a new real woman in Isabel Chambers. She’s a size 18-20, working single mother who now feels is it her time to start living her life again. At the ripe young age of 39 (at time of writing 1st book), A J Walters also wanted to show that you can experience everything that a twenty-something would.
“I saw that a 39 year old isn’t quite at retirement age for fun, sex and finding love again. There are so many women out there that can be represented in books as well as the slim, innocent and beautiful types. Don’t get me wrong I love reading books with them in, but there is so many of them around now I felt is was time for something different. I’d like to think I brought my sense of humour across in it as well. I am ditsy, I suffer from ‘foot in mouth’ syndrome, but I can also be serious and sentimental. From the feedback I’ve had, apparently it makes for a great writing voice.”
A J Walters has since gone on to publish 2 books in The Attraction Series; An Acute Attraction and A Constant Attraction. There is a 3rd book in the pipeline, which is expected to be published in January 2015.
As well as writing this series of books, she has also written a short story for a summer anthology and is now an Amazon #1 Bestseller in Women's Fiction for her publication of Lust, Love, Dreams and Heartache: A book of romantic and erotic poetry.

A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it.

We’re doomed.

I took the stairs to the basement. He’d been favoring the basement lately, as it had a few unused walls. I turned on my flashlight and slowed the lower I got.
“Could this place be any creepier?” Jessica asked, appearing behind me, her hands cradled at her chest as though afraid to touch anything.
“It is now,” I said, refraining from doing a fist pump and shouting, Score!
A singsong voice fluttered through the air toward me. “Somebody’s in trouble.”
I recognized the voice as Strawberry Shortcake’s—not her real name—a girl who’d drowned when she was nine. She’d taken up residence with Rocket and his little sister, Blue Bell. My gratitude with respect to that fact knew no bounds, because before SS had taken to squatting at the asylum, she was better known as a crazy stalker chick who warned me repeatedly to stay away from her brother, David Taft, a police officer in my uncle’s precinct. And she often tried to scratch my eyes out. Not an endearing quality.
Since Taft and I could barely stand each other, her concerns had never truly been an issue, but she’d seen me as a threat until her brother started dating skanks. Her words. After that, she decided I needed to date him after all. Thankfully, she was too busy being Chrissy from Three’s Company to push the issue.
Jessica and I turned toward her. SS wore her usual pink Strawberry Shortcake pajamas that were all the rage back in the day. Her long blond hair hung in tangles down her back as always, and her baby blues shimmered a silvery color, even incorporeal as she was. Though her luster had a general grayness to it, she was as solid to me as the walls around us.
The grayness often gave the departed away. And the cold. But more than that, their lack of emotion was a real tip- off —I couldn’t feel any radiating off the dead, as I could the living. Even without those signs, there was something intangible about the departed that made me instinctively know they were no longer among the living. It just registered in the back of my mind when I met someone who’d departed. I could always sense it. From the day I was born, I knew there were two kinds of people: the living and the dead.
What took me much, much longer to comprehend was the fact that not everyone was able to see the departed. My confusion had caused me problems growing up. Especially with my stepmother. But that was a story— or, well, a dozen or so stories— for another time.

Review: Shooting Scars by Karina Halle

Publication Date:  08/20/2013

Series: The Artists Trilogy #2
Rating:  4 Stars

Official Blurb:

The USA Today Bestseller!!
A Dangerous Kind of Love . . .
When Ellie Watt offered herself to her thuggish former lover Javier to save Camden's life, she never imagined the twisted game Javier had planned for her. Trapped by him and his entourage of killers, Ellie is forced to commit a dangerous, heinous crime-or Javier will kill Camden. Now ex-con artist Ellie must find a way to stay ahead of the game . . . before it destroys her and the only man she ever loved.
Camden McQueen can't forget Ellie Watt. Seeking revenge and pursued by the authorities for a crime he didn't commit, the talented tattoo artist does things he never thought himself capable of to save Ellie. As Camden straddles the line between love and retribution, he vows to do everything in his power to get her back. But if Camden unleashes his dark side, will Ellie still love him?

Shooting Scars is a wickedly intense and emotional read. Ellie has sacrificed herself to give Camden a second chance. Choosing Javier means Camden has a chance at happiness while she is subjected to a life of torture. Javier has no middle volume setting, it’s either love Ellie or kill her.

Ellie is a very strong and resilient female character. She has her own flaws which makes her the perfect strong female lead. I found myself at times actually shutting off my Nook with frustration at her choices only to turn it back on to realize why she chose the way she did. I think that deep down there’s still a sliver of hope she’ll find her HEA.

Camden is for a lack of better terms pissed at Ellie for her choice. He is completely devoted and loyal to Ellie and she has slapped him in his face. Her choice has no effect on his need to find her and show her what she’s missing. Camden by his own nature is a protector of those that he loves and he’s willingly to fight for her. Gus tags along on Cam’s quest to find Ellie. Gus knows that Ellie isn’t rotten to the core like she thinks and knows how much of the good in her Cam brings out. Damn I love Gus for that!

Javier is like the son of Satan and wrapped up in a very sinfully delicious exterior. I know I should hate him for his deceitful ways, but my female hormones go into overdrive in his scenes in Shooting Scars. Why must I always have a thing for the bad boys of fiction?!?!

All in All, this book literally has it all. Sacrifice, Love, Betrayal, etc. This book was sinfully addicting and a serious emotional rollercoaster. Halle has managed to create an unpredictable fiction world that will leave you on the brink of a nervous breakdown until you get your hands on the next book. I will warn you that there is a cliffhanger at the end of Shooting Scars that will leave you wondering… how long until book 3?!?!?!?

Review: Home No More by Leddy Harper

Publication Date: 10/14/2014
Rating: 4 stars

Official Blurb: My name is Kendall Carrington—or so I thought.

One night, a routine traffic stop turned the world I thought I knew upside down. I wasn’t who I thought I was. No one was. I had been kidnapped when I was young, and everything I had been told was all a lie. But the lies didn’t end there. If it hadn’t been for Lincoln Hunt, I might not have ever found out the truth.

My real name is Danielle Tucker.

This is my story of pain, betrayal, and finding the true meaning of home.

This was a very good debut novel by Leddy Harper!! This book kept at a good pace and it’s pretty easy to follow. Kendall is living a good life until her father or so she thought passed away and she moved in with her brother but not brother. When Kendall gets pulled over for a tail light being out her whole world is changed. Kendall or Danielle finds out she was taken as a small child and has called this man and his son family for years. Kendall has a relationship with Billy who is not actually her brother. When she is taken to the home of her real grandmother her whole world is broken with not only losing Billy but finding out she has been living a lie. She decides in 6 months when she turns 18 she is leaving to go back with Billy. Her grandmother promises to give her privileges if she makes some friends. That’s when Kendall/Danielle meets Lincoln. I really liked Lincoln from the get go. When secrets start spilling and Kendall finds herself in a really bad situation she turns to Lincoln for help. The relationship between Kendall and Link becomes strong but she is still fighting to get back to Billy. With many twists and turns in this book it was hard for me to guess how the situation would play out. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a lot of twists and turns and a story that keeps you guessing until the end. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Review: True Alpha Box Set by Alissa Woods

Official Blurb:
Shifters live in the shadows of Seattle, just under the skin of the alpha male, dot-com entrepreneurs who are building a new Silicon Valley in the Emerald City.

Mia is just a college girl trying to earn her business degree and dig out of the poverty she was born into--being a shifter is something she hides, hoping her secret won't sabotage her dreams.
Lucas is a broken alpha, a wolf who lost his mate, his pack, and almost himself--he wasn't looking to rescue a girl or start a pack war. But now he has to keep her safe or it won't just be her life, but his whole family at risk... only his inner wolf can't seem to keep its paws off
a girl who has secrets of her own.

9/2 - Desired (True Alpha 1)

Fantastic quick read! A surprisingly different werewolf kind of world. Seattle is now home to the top tech dot com companies all owned by various werewolf packs. Mia finds herself smack dab in the middle of the competition when one pack sets their sights on her. Lucas steps in and saves the day, but fate isn't to be denied. Lucas and Mia are extreme star crossed lovers. Mia discovers that being involved with Lucas may never be easy when she learns of his romantic past. But, Lucas doesn't know until its far too late that Mia has a secret of her own... she's a shifter.

9/2 – Guarded (True Alpha 2)

As if this series could be any better.... Guarded knock it out of the park. Lucas and Mia continue to toe around their destined relationship. Lucas cannot forgive himself for the death of his past mate and he's not about to drag Mia into the same fate.Mia doesn't exactly agree with his decisions. Guarded will send you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions! Come on release day for book 3!!!!!!

9/16 – Hunted (True Alpha 3)

HOLY FREAKING COW!!! Hunted has just literally blown me away. Lucas and Mia’s love story continues to skirt around the edges. They try to deny their attraction to each other, but obviously they can’t. Lucas must know that with Mia being endangered the only way to protect her is to claim her right? Nope, stubborn ass Lucas continues to deny his feelings at all. Hunted is a steamy, sexy, action-packed emotional rollercoaster ride. If Lucas doesn’t get off his tortured past bandwagon soon enough, he will lose out on his chance to claim the mate he and his wolf truly want.….installment now!!!!

9/30 - Captured (True Alpha 4)

This book series is KILLING ME! The suspenseful thrill ride just keeps coming and coming. Lucas’ actions have now placed Mia in immediate danger. She must fight with everything she’s got to keep from being claimed by the wrong wolf. Fighting the claiming isn’t the only thing she’s up against, they’ve got her human roommate imprisoned along side her. Fighting against her wolf’s nature will expose her strength and her captor’s motivation to keep her. This isn’t just Mia’s battle story. Lucas must face the consequences of his actions and the sudden realization he should have never denied her. He must become the true alpha that he’s buried in his past to keep her safe and claimed. This going to be a LONG two weeks before Book #4 is release. *cue bawling eyes out*

10/14 - Sacrificed (True Alpha 5)

I am absolutely stunned speechless. This book is just.. so damn good. I knew that Mia would have to face terrible danger in her kidnapping as well as the alpha trying to claim her. This book is the beginning of the end. You can really feel the emotions in her attempts to escape as well as save her valiant rescuer Lucas. The bloodshed starts here and I have feeling before it’s over that more blood will be lost in order to save Mia and Lucas. This episodic series is the first for me and damn I am so not ready for it to end.

10/21 - Claimed (True Alpha 6)

Ladies and Gentlemen.. I present to you the epic conclusion to Mia and Lucas’ story. Having been rescued from the clutches of a rival wolf pack, Mia know has to face a new set of hurdles. Lucas, his brother, and father were injured in the attack. If Lucas survives will he claim her? Will Colin stake his claim?

This final chapter of their story is filled to the brim and almost overflowing with brooding alpha male wolf-iness. His royal fuzziness and broken to bits Alpha Lucas knows he’s pushed Mia away and what the consequences of that might be for him if she moves on to another wolf. A claiming does occur, but I won’t spoil it for those of you who may not have read this series yet.

The claiming itself.. woah buddy, fiery passion, eagerness, and the fullness of final claiming will leave you a little hot and bothered and breathless all at the same time. You will have your moments of frustration and moments of tears, but in the end you will have a beautiful conclusion to an amazing episodic series.

Pandora Wild Child Blitz

Pandora Wild Child by Sunniva Dee
Publication date: October 28th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult

I’m free. Fucking free!

I’m in college with my best friends and far, far from home!
With my Scheuermann’s disease as the excuse, my father kept me locked up at home all through high school. Here in Deepsilver, I can finally be me, Pandora, so—
Why the hell should I hold back?
They accept our fake IDs at Smother, our local haunt. I’m the life of the party, everyone loves me—hell, I could get away with murder in this place! Drunk off my ass, I dance on the bar, and—
I’m on top of the world!
I need to get my shit together, though. If I don’t pull off good grades, my father won’t pay my tuition. There’s no way I’m moving back into his “fortress.”
At the bar, I set my eyes on a gorgeous stranger. My plans don’t involve him long term; one night should be enough. But Dominic is more than I bargained for. God, I’m so drawn to this man. My skin hums at his touch because—
He expels the shadows of my past and replaces my pain with desire.
Perfect Dominic. Beautiful, graduating, soon-to-move-on-with-his-life Dominic.
I’m a wild child. A hot mess. Not grownup and focused like him. He’s addictive, and I am weak, but—screw this; I can wean myself off him! With the right antidote—
Addictions can be broken.

On his bench, I melt.
My shield shatters, and I am open to him.
He always gives me more than the hour I come for, and warm, strong hands slide over my bare skin in exactly the way he’s paid to do.
Still, there’s an electricity in the room when he’s near. My heart accelerates instead of slowing down. And sometimes, when I can’t help the way my insides clench for him, my breath stutters.
My response never goes unnoticed; for an instant, his hands freeze. Then, they resume their beautiful dance over me.
When I am starved for him, I flip on the bench. I shut my eyes because sometimes, sometimes, I am shy. He doesn’t speak, then. Through thin slits under my lashes, I watch him watch me.
Some days, his breath coasts light over my face before he kisses me. “Pandora,” he whispers, “I can’t do this here.”
I don’t answer. He stops massaging me, and his hands caress me instead. Glide over the ridges of my ribs until they brush the sides of my breasts.
I’ve got to get my shit together. My life’s a mess, and I love it, fear it, hate it. I’m driving him crazy. Driving myself crazy. But it is what I allow myself. For these few hours a week are my respite, when his hands quiet my mind.

I write New Adult fiction with a paranormal twist and don’t shy away from romance and heart-wrenching passion when necessary.

I moved from Norway to the United States in 2001, and the first awesome five years I spent in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles. Then I read “The Book,” aka Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, which spurred my husband and me to move cross country to beautiful Savannah, Georgia.

I’m currently on my seventh year in the Deep South, where I enjoy the heat and the humidity. Besides writing, I spend my time with our “petting zoo” as in an opinionated parrot, a herd of cats that are experts on keyboard shortcuts, and puppies that…uh, bark.

I hold a Master’s degree in languages, with concentrations within literature and linguistics. I taught at college level for a decade before settling in as a graduate adviser at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Writing is my passion, my joy, and my addiction. When I’m not writing, I read.
Shattering Halos is my debut novel, and its standalone sequel, Stargazer, is due out later this year.

Review: Prenumbra by Keri Arthur

Publication Date: 10/28/2014
Series: Spook Squad #3
Rating: 4 Stars

Official Blurb:

Agent Sam Ryan wants out of the Special Investigations Unit. She’s sick of the attitude from her partner, Gabriel Stern. She’s sick of the paperwork. Most of all, she’s sick of feeling lonely. But her boss isn’t about to let her go that easily. He gives Sam a choice: either stay stuck in her office or guard a clone replacement of Dan Wetherton, a government minister. Sam reluctantly chooses the latter—even though she suspects she’s being used as bait to draw out the SIU’s elusive nemesis.
Gabriel would like nothing better than to be on his own, without a partner to hold him back. Then he learns that Sam has been assigned to protect Wetherton—or whatever it is that’s replaced him. Wetherton’s clone could have come from only one place: Hopeworth, the military base that contains the secrets of Sam’s past. Determined to protect her, Gabriel is drawn into a fight against unspeakable evil. And all too soon, Sam and Gabriel discover that the connection between them is far more powerful than anyone could ever have imagined.

Sam’s had enough with Gabriel’s decisions to keep her behind a desk and not on in the field. She’s decided to press the issue or move on from the SIU. When Stephen gives her an ultimatum of work a particularly difficult bodyguard case or take a hike, she knows it’s a take it or leave it situation. Gabriel does not take the news lightly and will not let Sam walk away from him so easily. Gabriel will go against SIU protocol to keep her safe. When Sam’s genetics are further investigated, Sam and Gabriel learn what exactly is between their strange connections. Sethanon is still watching Sam, and Gabriel knows he can’t lose her. Will they be able to band together to bring down Hopeworth and Sethnanon or will they go their separate ways.

I will admit right off the bat that I have mixed feelings about the way Keri Arthur wrapped up the Spook Squad series. There’s honestly no resolution to the story. It’s left so wide open that I cannot seem to grasp the fact the series is over. The epilogue closes the chapter on one story ARC that has been building from the very first book, but again, misses the mark for me. Personally, I was hoping for a complete resolution to Sam’s story. As this is a reboot of this series, I can only hope that maybe Arthur is trying to bring in a larger audience before continuing the series on further.

What I did like is the twist and turns about Sam’s life. Sam’s origins have been slowly unraveled throughout the trilogy. Each book brought us closer to what Sam’s genes actually hold. Arthur really surprised me with some of the revelations about Sam. I particularly liked the fact that Sam’s dreams and memories were the key to the knowledge. Sethanon’s identity was also somewhat of a surprise for me. I had a feeling early on I knew who he really was, but I was completely wrong. I also loved the introduction of the idea that clones were being used to cover up influential leaders murders and deaths.

All in all, I did enjoy the finale to the Spook Squad series. As I previously mentioned, the open ending left me a little confused and wanting. Sam’s origin story made the book for me. I will say this without giving too many spoilers away; we do get a resolution to Sam and Gabriel’s attraction for each other. We’ve been teased for 3 books now on whether or not they’d end up together. Sam’s had it with his bastard behavior and she wants an honest answer when it comes to the attraction between them. I honestly hope that we’ll be able to dive back into the Spook Squad series to finish out the Hopeworth ARC. I’d really like to know more about their experiments and what’s to become of Sethanon.

He closed his warm hand around hers. The wild fire returned with vengeance, making
her tiger pace under her skin, too close to the edge. She faced him and stared
into his brown eyes. Big mistake. Desire she hadn’t noticed earlier reached out
to her empathy, intensifying her own needs. When he cupped her face, liquid
heat pooled between her thighs. Oh, God, she wanted to kiss him, possess him.

This short yet deliciously good novella tells the tale of tiger shifter Samira “Sam” Anderson and his journey to adulthood as she attends college away from her Pack. She is chosen to be a rare female sentinel for her pack. She’s never backed down from a challenge and she’s not about to let college be her breaking point. What she didn’t expect to face is finding her mate. Not only is her mate very unexpectedly human, but he’s also exactly the kind of man she’d want. Yet, Gavin has his own trepidations about this budding relationship. He’s been burned before and he’s not about to go through that kind of relationship again with Sam. He knows something is different about her. Yet, can he handle the knowledge that Sam’s about to bestow on him or will be himself buckle under the pressure?

To put this simply, I really enjoyed this novella. It has all the makings of a great shifter story. You’ve got your supernaturals, humans, taboo romance, steamy love scenes, drama, and much more. I honestly love the shift on shifter mates and their lifetimes in this novel. Davis has made it possible for her characters to have a happy ending when in other novels you are left with wonder as to how their lives will end as they grow older together. All in all, Davis has knocked it out of the park in terms of a great novella. I hope to learn more about Sam and her pride in future books J
